Video creation nuts and bolts
For anyone aspiring to create promo videos for their books, I point out that tons of packaged templates exist out there that work darn well. However, since I already have Adobe Premiere in my arsenal, I figure why not use it? I like to paddle my own canoe, usually right over the falls, but that is another story. Anyways, for the purposes of my workflow, I start with rough scribbled thumbnails, then break down the layers I plan to animate and save those art elements, for the most part, as png files set to transparent and prepositioned on 1920 x 1080 pixel canvases. For this video and ones to follow, I want a techno-futuristic sci-fi edge, so I discovered a collection of cool, glitchy transitions and sound effects—courtesy of Film Crux—totally awesome, and better yet, FREE.
The learning curve for Adobe Premiere appears daunting at first glance, but once you get the swing of the workspace and timeline, it is really empowering and fun.
One caveat is to be sure the images in your videos are your own. If you plan on adding music or sound effects, they also must be public domain or deemed free to use. And remember, have fun and keep an eye on the sky!

Calling Book Reviewers
And as always, we are looking for book reviews. Buy a print or ebook copy wherever books sell in this vast and mysterious universe. After reading the novel, pen a review. It’s fun, and you can say whatever you like—rambling on incoherently. Sort of like I am doing here.
